Betty White hosting SNL. All of your favorite female cast members came back and Jay-Z performed two different medley's of hits. The EP is Emmy worthy. So much fun.

First Look-->> Aloe Blacc
Aloe Blacc is a singer, songwriter, and cutie-pie, currently living in Los Angeles and signed to Stones Throw records. If you need a breathe of fresh air, in the form of soul music, do yourself a favor and purchase "Shine Through" released in '06. Or log onto his website for a listen.
This here vid is for the theme song for HBO's "How To Survive In New York".

First Look-->> Kelis Cover Art & Video
Kelis is back and looking wilder than ever. I'mma stick wid her dough cause she ain't never led me astray. Although I think I slept on that last disc, "Kelis Was Here" anyone know how it was? Anyhoo, she has released the cover art and first video "Acapella" from her forthcoming disc "Flesh Tone".
As wild as this video is, I believe it's about her son and starting life anew. I love it. Eh Girl, lend five dollars?! I kid, I kid.

Farewell-->> Dixie Carter
Oh no, Dixie Carter has passed away. I loved her on "Designing Women", about four feisty Southern belles and there hilarious, ex-con assistant. But she was also an accomplished Broadway actress and dancer. It really seemed like she was a classy dame. I like that.
Here is a scene of Dixie as Julia Sugarbaker going tha hell off in classic Julia form.

First Look-->> Goldfrapp & Lady Gaga
Go somewhere else to see the Telephone vid. Over here it's all about that new Goldfrapp Rocket off the duo's forthcoming CD entitled Head First due in stores March 23rd. I mean I love Lady Gaga as much as the next misunderstood monster, but pushed up against a wall, a frapp trumps a gaga any day.
Oh o.k. Have some Gaga too.

In Memory of -->>Christopher Wallace
Biggie. I loved him. Still do. I live in Brooklyn cause of him. Swagger, style & rhymes. I was living in L.A. a mere few miles up Wilshire Blvd. from the auto museum where Biggie was shot and killed. I awoke on a Sunday to here the horrible news. Never before had a rapper had such an affect on me. I mean, I loved De La Soul and Leaders of the New School and others but never like my love for this man. He was real but fun. I like that in my thugs I guess. Those qualities reside in me as well. I don't know. It sucks. Music was never more fun than from 1988 to March 9, 1997. He was 24.
I have put together a series of videos and interivews with help from Youtube. Enjoy.

No Pants Subway Day!
I admit it, I did it!
So every year for the past eight years, folks from around the globe have gotten together to take their pants off on a subway car in the name of art, brought to you by Improv Everywhere in 28 degree weather. It was fun but exhausting. Ton's of mouths were on the floor and some subway riders were downright outraged! Oh well; see ya next year;-)

Ya Heard-->> Nicki Minaj "I Get Crazy"
| Lil Wayne Ft. Nikki Minaj - I Get Crazy .mp3 | ||
| | ||
| Found at bee mp3 search engine |
Looking past the horrible weave/wig and loud colors, Ms. Minaj might actually have something to say and make rap fun for the ladies again. While playing my new theme song, I found this informative interview on her Myspace page.
I'm paying attention and if you want to to, check out her mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty, in stores now.

Welcome Home Mr. Forte
Kanye blogged this a day or two ago. I was a fan and my heart broke when the whole incident and his sentence went down. If you only know John Forte from the Fugees, do yourself a favor and cop the Poly Sci album release in 1998. Don't tell anyone, but I found mine years ago in the bargain bind at Amoeba records in the bay;-)

Done & Done!

B. Rocka Got Jokes
Last night I was walking down 5th Ave. and past by the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. I smelled 'greatness" in the air not to mention that tons of security and official looking cars lined the street for several blocks. And war protesters had formed across the street and had been stashed behind a barricade. My former roommate and now friend Adam has been all over this election year like it was the world series and keeps me up to date on the goings on. Sure enough, this morning he informed me that their was a dinner and B. Rocka (that's what I call the president; yeah President) was in attendance. Had I have known, my derelict ass woulda sho' nuff have tried to sneak a peek into the festivities. Thank the heavens for YouTube! This shit is funny. Enjoy.
First Look-->> Retro Kidz
It's all about the early nineties here in New York. The clothes, the lingo and the music pumping out the stereos. Every time I go to Dunkin' Donuts for coffee, I get to here Mary J from like the first album or some other tunes circa 1992. It's great and I love it cause that's right around the time that my love for New York hit hard.
Now, for the past couple of years here in Brooklyn, there has been a set known as the Retro Kidz that takes it to another level. I have seen one or two in person and it's just so uncanny how they pull this off. Taken from their Myspace page:
The shit is fresh to def but I lived through it and keep my style moving into the future. But it takes every kind of people to make the world go round. So without further or do, straight outta Bed-Stuy...I introduce you to the Retro Kidz "New Era"!
