I knew it! Bernie Mac, real name Bernard McCullough, has been ill for quite some time. He was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. I knew it! Damnit. TMZ.com is reporting that he passed this morning Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in Chicago. He was 50 years old.
I first saw the Mac man on Def Comedy Jam. "I ain't scared of you muthafuckas", was his big tag line and everyone would go nuts. I knew then he was something special. I am so grateful that he was able to fulfill his comedic dreams. He has 4 movies in post-production so look for him on the big screen soon. He will be missed.
